Registered Respiratory Therapist – Penticton

IRS Independent Respiratory Services Inc. is a BC-owned and operated full service respiratory company that has been providing sleep apnea and home oxygen therapy to British Columbians since 1996. We are currently looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team in Penticton, British Columbia.

The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Efficiently arrange initial patient intake appointments and demonstrate a strong understanding of

sleep apnea, other breathing disorders and chronic and acute respiratory disorders

  • Effectively use questionnaires to collect detailed patient histories
  • Possess a thorough understanding of diagnostic procedures and devices related to sleep apnea and oxygen therapy
  • Acquire comprehensive knowledge regarding IRS’ complete range of CPAP, BIPAP, Oxygen and other respiratory related equipment (Nebulizers, suction devices, etc.)
  • Analyze data collected from patient screenings and be able to assess efficacy prior to forwarding to referring Physicians
  • Communicate professionally with referral sources (Physicians, Specialists, Sleep Labs, Hospitals, Community Care)
  • Assist Clients in optimizing their CPAP and Oxygen Therapy equipment for the management of their disorder
  • Thoroughly understand processes and limits related to all external funding sources — private, MHSD, NIHB, VAC, HOP
  • Manage patient expectations and complete trials within prescribed time frames
  • Education and Background:
  • RRT Designation preferred, RPSGT and RN Designations will be considered
  • Homecare experience a definite asset
  • Good standing with CSRT
  • Strong computer skills, competence with Microsoft Office applications
  • Valid Driver’s License
