What is Oxygen Therapy?

Oxygen Therapy uses supplemental oxygen to increase the level of oxygen carried in your blood.  Oxygen is a Physician-prescribed medication that is used for short and long-term durations depending on a person’s needs.  Oxygen Therapy can normalize oxygen levels in your blood.

  • IRS provides Oxygen Therapy for clients with Extended Health Benefits, RCMP, Veteran’s Affairs, WorkSafe BC and Non-Insured Health Benefits coverage
  • Most Extended Health Benefit Providers require only a prescription to fund Oxygen Therapy
  • IRS can assist clients without benefits who do not qualify for government funding if their Physician recommends Oxygen Therapy
  • Home Oxygen Assessments can be completed within 24 hours of referral
