Respiratory Therapist/Respiratory Clinician, Prince Rupert, BC
Reports to: Regional Manager (Site Supervision and Operational Efficiency).
Location: Prince George
The Respiratory Therapist will be committed to providing excellent service to shareholders that include clients, potential clients, shared services, and the branch team. The incumbent will screen clients for sleep disorders as well as instruct and educate clients about them and the use of CPAP, BIPAP and APAP therapy to correct the condition; helping clients to manage their sleep disorder while providing ongoing support. The Respiratory Therapist will work closely with the client’s physician to assess and provide for Oxygen needs and ongoing maintenance. Participation in the education of healthcare workers and the general public regarding sleep disorders as well as the marketing of IRS products and services. The incumbent will carry out all responsibilities while promoting a high standard of Professional behavior, team cooperation while maintaining confidentiality and endeavor to fulfill Independent Respiratory Services’ mission, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintains current product knowledge on an ongoing basis
- Responsible for increasing sales in the area
- Marketing of products and services throughout the medical community
- Participating in talks and luncheons and in-services, to educate the healthcare professionals and the general public
- Provide excellent customer service to our clients
- Manage a full patient load
- Able to participate in the afterhours on-call rotation
- Achieving predetermined sales goals
- Closing titrations/sales in a reasonable time frame
- Attend staff and sales meetings
- Provide coverage for other branches as required
- Assist CSC’s with all aspects of the office environment
- Completion of accurate chart notes, clinical work, and reports in a timely manner
Required Education and Qualifications
These are the qualifications necessary for someone to be considered for this position. All qualifications must comply with provincial human rights legislation.
- Diploma: Graduate of a recognized Respiratory Therapy Diploma Program
- Ongoing membership with CSRT and BCSRT
- Valid class five driver’s license
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Microsoft office products, word, excel, power point
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Previous clinical experience will be beneficial
- Training: Equivalent combination of education and experience an asset
- CPR or BCLS would be an asset
